Northern Exposure

Ben.jpg

Ben began working life as a volunteer based in Egypt, dealing with refugees from the Horn of Africa. From managing conservation and community development projects in the Middle East and Pakistan for gap year organisation, Project Trust, he moved to the Okavango Delta, Botswana in 1996. Here he built Dumatau Camp and gained his national guides licence whilst working for Wilderness Safaris, a relationship which lasted eight years.

He guided throughout the Delta and Linyanti regions and managed various camps including Jedibe Island Camp, Savuti Bush Camp and the Kubu Queen houseboat. In Namibia he guided and managed at the Skeleton Coast and Damaraland Camps before becoming the concession manager for Damaraland and the director of the Children in the Wilderness programme in 2002.

In North America, Ben has spent time tracking and photographing wildlife in British Columbia, Manitoba, Montana and Wyoming.

Having had the good fortune to experience some of the natural world's most exciting habitats he returned to England in 2004 to establish Northern Exposure.

sarah.JPG Sarah worked in UK marketing, sales and advertising for 10 years. She lived and worked in Namibia for Wilderness Safaris as co-ordinator for Children in the Wilderness Namibia. She returned to the UK in 2004 as Sales & Marketing Manager for a Languages Agency, before joining Northern Exposure in 2007 to manage the office. She has travelled widely including a 6 month spell in Mexico, and trips to Kenya, Mozambique, Uganda, Rwanda, the Far East and India among others.

Lloyd Temple Camp was born and raised in South Africa. After a stint as a teacher in Durban, he started his guiding career at Mala Mala and went on to manage and guide at safari camps throughout Southern Africa. Lloyd has managed some of Botswana's premier camps including Mombo and Xigera. After 4 years in the Okavango Delta, Lloyd relocated to Namibia where he set-up the staff training programme for Wilderness Safaris which covered 17 luxury camps and 700 staff. This kept him pretty busy from 2001 - 2009 though he still managed to personally guide safaris in Namibia, Botswana, Zambia, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Uganda and Rwanda. This wealth of experience makes Lloyd a superb asset as Northern Exposure's head of training.
