Following a week's closure at the start of the year for maintenance, the lodge has recently installed a satellite internet connection, and now has a new, designated guest computer available in the gift shop, for guests to check their emails. This is billed at N$1/min.
The menus are being updated at Erongo with guests offered a choice of two 2 main courses instead of the set meal for dinner. At the end of the evening guests will now return to their rooms and find their beds have been turned down.
There has been great wildlife sightings at the lodge, which have been enhanced by the copious rain levels – the area is looking beautiful and green! The birdlife in particular has been prolific with lots of yellow-billed kites seen circling around the surrounding kopjies. The restaurant has also been having regular sightings of porcupine and genet at night. A new small spotlight is shining straight down to the rocks outside the restaurant.

COMING SOON – OLIVE EXCLUSIVE
Once again, Olive Grove is leading the way in beautiful design in Windhoek. Roger and Lindy will be opening their new Olive Exclusive suite in the middle of this year (August) having bought the neighbouring property and olive grove – hence the name. The two bedroom suite will be the premier room for stays in Windhoek.
Perfect for couples wanting that extra bit of privacy or for families travelling together, the apartment will boast a comfortable lounge, stunning bathrooms with wonderful views, inside and outside dining area, pool, and small garden.
The suite will be the cutting-edge of simplistic design with the same exceptional standards of dining and service that Olive Grove currently provides. This will be the first suite in Windhoek to totally compliment the growing number of villas and exclusive suites found in Namibia's safari camps.

Honeymoons at Erongo Wilderness Lodge and Olive Grove
Roger and Lindy always make every effort to make this time as special as possible.
At Erongo, the honeymoon room is very private and has its own ‘chill out’ area at the back of the room with a small rock bath and space to relax under the shade of a Leadwood tree. The views down the valley will last a lifetime.
Olive Grove provides a great start or end to a Namibian honeymoon with an indulgent, open-plan bathroom in the stunning Executive suite.
At both Olive Grove and Erongo, two complimentary small bottles of sparkling wine are placed in the rooms which are all tastefully decorated with chocolate hearts, lavender branches or seed pods from indigenous bushes. At Erongo a private dinner on the swimming pool deck is arranged and at Olive Grove guests can eat a private dinner inside the honeymoon room or outside on their terrace.
