The large four-poster bed creates an immediate impression, with its surrounding drapes and an overall feeling of luxury, refinement and spaciousness.

The rooms are lit by lamps made out of coconut shells. The décor uses subtle pastel shades, and the cane armchairs and linen fabrics add to the natural feel about the place. Coconut mats add a further tropical touch and the solid wood flooring creates a warm, homely atmosphere.

The atmosphere is continued into the bright and spacious bathrooms, with wooden frames to the mirrors and wardrobes made from Madagascan rabane, palm tree raffia.

Everywhere, there is a feeling of openness, with a view of the coconut trees from the bath itself. There is also an outdoor shower.

The terrace is comfortably furnished with wicker chairs, deckchairs and a teakwood table. It looks out over the transparent lagoon.

6 suites have super-king size double beds and the other 14 have twin beds.

Le Veloutier

In front of the swimming pool, the Creole style restaurant has a stunning view of the pool and the sea beyond, open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The cuisine varies between Creole, French and cosmopolitan styles.

An alternative is to dine under shady thatch on the beach where guests can enjoy a relaxed lunch or intimate candlelit dinner just metres from the ocean.

Bar l’Amirante

The well stocked bar provides the perfect end to the day as you sip cocktails and watch the sunset over the lagoon. (open from 10a.m.) Back

Swimming Pool

The hotel’s pool faces the sea. The adult pool is clearly separated by a wooden bridge from the children’s splash pool area.

Water Sports

Desroches offers exceptional sites for both diving and deep-sea fishing.

Windsurfing, pedal boats, kayaks and snorkelling are available free-of-charge. A fee is charged for diving (PADI) and deep-sea fishing.

Land-based activities

Beach volley-ball, table tennis, bocci ball, floodlit tennis courts and mountain bikes are available free-of-charge. A fee is charged for billiards.

Spa

The ‘Coconut Spa' provides cosmetic and facial treatments, body treatments and massages. Back

Incentive

Desroches Resort and Spa is happy to welcome groups and incentives and the hotel is happy to discuss with group leaders in advance the kind of facilities and programme they would like to organise.

Because of its location, close to some of The Seychelles best dive sites, the resort is particularly popular with diving groups.

As the resort does not have a conference room, incentives tend to choose the destination for team-building exercises. Desroches provides an exclusive and inspirational environment for developing team spirit, in a setting of exceptional, natural beauty, removed from outside distractions. Back

The Villas

Opening from 1st November 2008, Desroches will have 28 four bedroomed villas that are built along the north-west facing beaches. Guests step out of their villas and are on the beach. These four bedroomed villas offer an exclusive and private experience for families and groups of friends who are looking for their own private domain. There are a range of villa dimensions to choose from at varying prices per night. Villas sizes are either 440m2, 600m2, right up to the palatial Presidential 750m2 villa that has over 100m of beach front.

Each fully equipped Villa has its own private swimming pool, central living and entertainment area as well as kitchenette. All bedrooms are air-conditioned and overlook the main entertainment deck towards the sea and are well appointed in a style that is modern and luxurious, yet blends in with that sensuous remote island atmosphere.

These have three master bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, with a bath as well and an indoor and an outdoor shower. The fourth bedroom is slightly smaller in size and has no bath.

There are only two 600m2 villas on Desroches. They are built in the same island style as the 440m2 villas. The only difference is that all four bedrooms are master bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms that contains a bath as well and an indoor and an outdoor shower.

There is only one Presidential Villa. This has over 100m of beach frontage and the whole villa is spread out to take advantage of the views. All four bedrooms are air-conditioned master bedrooms with their own ensuite bathrooms. Back
