Boulders is now open

Boulders Camp, the newest member of the exclusive Wolwedans Collection is now open. It is situated two hours drive south of the other Wolwedans properties and airstrip, deep in the heart of the NamibRand nature reserve. Boulders accommodates guests in 4 spacious rooms sited around the base of a rock strewn mountain and is private in the extreme. There are no well trodden paths here, just thousands of square hectares of the oldest desert on the planet, and a few lucky guests.

As you would expect from Wolwedans, the tents and main guest area are finished to the very highest standards with the unbelievable views for which the NamibRand is famous.

Boulders is seasonal and is open from Easter to October, the prime desert months.

June 2007

Wolwedans' Dune Camp has seen significant changes to the tents this month. Gone are the original dome tents; new larger tents have replaced them providing much more space for guests. The oblong tents are much lighter, brighter and now have a wide canopy to provide ample shade on the veranda during the heat of the afternoon.

March 2007

Wolwedans' Stephan Brückner has set up NICE (Namibian Institute of Culinary Education) in collaboration with NamibRand Safaris and German chef Ralf Herrgott. The Institute combines professional training (aiming to produce 12 chefs per year for the Namibian hospitality industry) with the opportunity to enjoy first class dining in the attached restaurant and wine cellars.

This is a first for such an initiative in the Namibian hospitality industry; Stephan hopes to not only raise F&B standards but to offer opportunities to young Namibians who may not otherwise get the chance to develop their culinary skills. We recommend that during your stay in Windhoek you pay a visit to the restaurant, situated on Mozart Street, for a superb dining experience.
